Set in 20 acres of forest and meadow at the foothills of the Julian Alps in Slovenia’s Soca Valley our farmhouse offers lots of different gems for today’s traveller. With crystal clear mountain springs and right on the Baca river, a stone’s throw for the Triglav National Park, an hour’s drive from the Slovenian Wine region in Goriška Brda and within easy reach of Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana or the ancient cities of Venice and Cividale, Klavže 28 is both relaxing and inspiring. Ernest Hemingway wrote A Farwell to Arms in this region in 1929. James Joyce spent plenty of time in the nearby Mediterranian city of Trieste. Yogis and mystics have found healing chakras in the ‘Emerald Trail’ of the Soca river. ‘Emerald’ because the river gets its colour from the limestone that has formed it over millennia.
